Oakview PTA Earns Top Award from the State!
Oakview PTA was named the 2016-2017 Local PTA Unit of the Year!  This top honor from the South Carolina PTA recognizes the tremendous partnership between parents, community members, faculty, and staff to support the students at Oakview!  From enrichment programs to strong communication, Oakview’s PTA sets the standard for others to follow, as over 40,000 volunteer hours are logged each year!  In addition to earning Unit of the Year, Oakview PTA received the following awards at this year’s SCPTA state convention:

Arbor Day Contest
Congratulations to Holly Haydamack (Mrs. Gray’s class) and Lauren Walker (Ms. Boone’s class) who both received Honorable Mention for their entries  in the District wide Arbor Day Contest Congratulations to Holly Haydamack (Mrs. Gray’s class) and Lauren Walker (Ms. Boone’s class) who both received Honorable Mention for their entries  in the District wide Arbor Day Contest sponsored by the Greenville Council of Garden Clubs.  Both girls wrote about the importance and beauty of trees.  They were honored at an April 20th ceremony and reception at the Kilgore Lewis House in downtown Greenville and received a certificate, along with a black cherry tree to plant in their yard.


Kitchen Staff Earns Perfect 100’s
Congratulations to Miss Rena and her kitchen staff for earning FOUR perfect scores of 100 this school year as part of their annual inspections! Testing Information
Third, fourth, and fifth grade students willl be participating in SC READY math on-line testing from April 27 - May 26​. Third, fourth, and fifth grade students willl be participating in SC READY math on-line testing from April 27 - May 26​.  Fourth and fifth grade students will be participating in SC PASS science and social studies on-line testing from April 27 - May 26.  The math, science, and social studies test are also untimed and you can refer to the teacher's website and Monday Memo for the scheduled dates for each of the test.  Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives at school on time each day of testing.  Thanks for your support.

The Owl News Network (ONN) crew recently got a The Owl News Network (ONN) crew recently got a "behind the scenes" tour of FOX CAROLINA NEWS. The crew visited with Fox's lead anchor, Diana Watson, and got a glimpse of what all's involved in putting on a live news broadcast several times a day! Our crew enjoyed visiting the studio and even got to sit at the anchors' desk in the actual studio!

Snow White Play
Mrs. Agnew’s actors performed a magnificent version of Snow White for their fellow classmates & parents.Mrs. Agnew’s actors performed a magnificent version of Snow White for their fellow classmates & parents. Mrs. Poynter, Speech Therapy and Prentiss Standridge, SmartARTS collaborated to make this play successful.  The children did a wonderful job following directions, sequencing and using expressive vocabulary.  SmartARTS is a partnership between Greenville County Schools (GCS) and the Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC) that connects students, artists and teachers to deeper learning and self-awareness through integrating the arts with all areas of education.  Outstanding job!

BRICK CAMPAIGN TO SUPPORT                                       


We are excited to announce an upcoming project that will improve Oakview Elementary’s playground facilities and main entrance. This project is centered around the following plans:​


• Install a new major playground structure
• Incorporate new equipment into the kindergarten playground
• Create a brick walkway at main school entrance
• Improve landscaping where necessary

The Oakview PTA’s Goal is to provide $50,000 to support the improvements and new playground. This includes funding from individual families as well as corporate sponsorships. 

Don't forget to collect those box tops all summer long!
