Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Q: What kind of time commitment is this?

A: Watch D.O.G.S. is designed for you to spend the entire day with your child, starting at 7:30am to help in the car line all the way until the end of the school day when you will take your child home.

Q: What should I expect on my day?

A: It’s a unique day that allows you to be an active player in our kids’ day at school. You’ll get to see the school from all angles: the car line in the morning, the classroom, maybe the science lab, the lunch room, and others. The more you engage and get involved, the more you and our kids will get out of it.

Q: What should I wear?

A: The most important thing to wear is your Watch D.O.G.S. t‐shirt; the kids recognize it, and they get excited when they see us in the hallway. Jeans and comfortable shoes is all you need to add to it.

Q: Will I get to spend time with my own kids?

A: Yes – you’ll get to spend ~45 minutes in his/her classroom and you’ll also have lunch with his/her class.

Q: What if I have multiple kids?

A: You’ll be spending time in ALL their classes and ALL their lunches…hope you’re hungry

Q: Is there going to be a “Pizza Night Sign‐Up event” like in year’s past?

A: This year, we are going to move the sign‐up process online. We’ve also added all the information you’ll need to learn/refresh your memory about the program to the Oakview PTA Watch D.O.G.S. website. Sign‐ups will begin September 16th, and we’ll be sending out more information leading up to that day. We’re also here to answer any questions you have.
